How to Export Flag Football Stats to MaxPreps

StatHawk is a MaxPreps stat import partner with a registered Stat Supplier ID. For an eligible finalized high school game, StatHawk exports a MaxPreps-ready player-stat file that you import through MaxPreps Team Admin. No retyping supported player-stat lines one by one.

This is a file export the coach controls. There is no sync, no API, no connection, and no automatic upload. The file carries player stats and does not set the final score or game result in MaxPreps, so you still enter the final score in MaxPreps yourself.

Why coaches need clean MaxPreps-ready stats

MaxPreps is where high school players' stats live publicly, so a team page that stays current is worth the few minutes it takes per game.

Hand-entering a flag football box score after every game is the kind of work that quietly stops happening by week four. Stats go stale. Players miss out on the record. The export workflow closes that gap.

What the export includes

StatHawk's MaxPreps export contains supported individual player-stat fields. It does not set or update the final score or game result in MaxPreps.

Passing and rushing: completions, attempts, yards, touchdowns, interceptions, sacks, sack yards lost.

Receiving: receptions, yards, touchdowns.

Defense: flag pulls, assists, interceptions, interception return yards, interception return TDs, sacks, forced fumbles, pass breakups, safeties.

Special teams: punts, punt yards, inside-20 punts, punt returns, punt return yards, fair catches, punt return TDs.

Tries and scoring: 1-point tries, 2-point tries, kick extra points, field goals, and total points. Try types are split individually in the export, because a generic "PAT made" column is not sufficient for the MaxPreps Girls Flag Football spec.

Players whose only stats are special teams, defensive specialty, tries, or kicks are included in the export even if they have no passing, rushing, or receiving stats. A punt specialist or kicker who never touched the ball otherwise will still appear in the file with the correct columns populated.

What to track during the game

Track the game normally in StatHawk. Use Classic Mode for fast scoring, or Yardage Mode if you want passing, rushing, and receiving yards in the export. Either mode produces a valid MaxPreps file, and Yardage Mode produces a richer one.

For NFHS high school games, also log:

• Punt results (touchback, downed, out of bounds, returned) and return yards when applicable
• Try type after each touchdown (1-point, 2-point, or kick)
• Field goal attempts and results
• Penalty enforcement outcomes

These inputs feed the special teams, scoring, and try columns in the export. If you skip them during the game you can't reconstruct them afterward.

Be consistent with jersey numbers across the season. MaxPreps ties stats to your team page by player, and a mid-season number change is the most common source of import mismatches.

How to review postgame stats

When the game ends, check the box score before exporting.

• Scan passing for completions, attempts, touchdowns, interceptions.
• Confirm every touchdown is credited to the right player.
• Confirm try types are logged. If all your post-TD attempts show as the same type, something may have been skipped.
• Check the special teams table if your team punted. Punt stats should show for the punter.
• Confirm defensive stats look right, especially flag pulls and interceptions.

If something looks wrong, fix it now. The export is a snapshot of what is in StatHawk at the moment you generate it.

How to generate the export file

From the completed Game Detail screen, tap Export MaxPreps File. The button also appears on the Game Over screen right after you finish a tracked game, which is the fastest path if you want to export before leaving the field.

StatHawk builds the MaxPreps-ready player-stat file and writes your Stat Supplier ID into it, so the import is credited to your program.

The export is available for completed games in high school seasons with stats. It appears for both NFHS and CIF high school formats.

Save the .txt file somewhere you can grab it from a computer. A cloud drive, email to yourself, or AirDrop to a laptop all work.

What to check before upload

• Keep the .txt file extension.
• Keep the filename simple. MaxPreps rejects filenames with quotes or parentheses. If a file fails to import, rename it to import.txt and try again.
• Confirm jersey numbers in StatHawk match your MaxPreps roster.
• Confirm the opponent and date on the MaxPreps schedule match the game you exported.

How to upload to MaxPreps

These steps come from MaxPreps coach support.

1. Finalize and verify the eligible high school game in StatHawk.
2. Export the MaxPreps-ready player-stat file.
3. Sign in to MaxPreps Team Admin with your Coach Admin account.
4. Open Schedule and the game's stat-entry flow.
5. Enter or verify the final score or box score, then choose Save & Import Stats.
6. Choose and import the StatHawk file.
7. Select Calculate Team Totals, then Publish & Continue.

The StatHawk file contains supported individual player-stat fields. It does not set or update the final score or game result in MaxPreps, so you enter or verify that yourself in step 5.

A note for girls high school flag football

Girls high school flag football is sanctioned in a growing number of states. For state-by-state status, see the girls high school flag football sanctioning tracker. State reporting setups differ too: Washington coaches enter schedules and scores in Arbiter while box scores and player stats go to MaxPreps, and Nevada coaches report under NIAA guidance.

FAQ

Is this a live sync with MaxPreps? No. There is no sync, API, connection, or automatic upload. The coach exports a file and imports it per game through MaxPreps Team Admin.

Do I need MaxPreps Pro? No. The Coach Admin account is what you need to enter and import stats.

Does the export work in Classic Mode and Yardage Mode? Yes. Yardage Mode produces a richer export with passing, rushing, and receiving yards. Classic Mode produces a valid file without yardage columns.

What if a player only has special teams stats? They are included in the export. A punter with no other stats, a kicker, or a punt returner will appear in the file with their correct columns populated.

Does the export work for both NFHS and CIF formats? Yes. Both qualify as high school seasons in StatHawk and both generate the MaxPreps file.
