    How to Export Flag Football Stats to MaxPreps

    StatHawk includes free MaxPreps-ready player-stat exports for eligible finalized high school games on your own team. You export a file from the game, then import it through MaxPreps Team Admin. StatHawk Pro is not required.

    This is a file you control, not automatic synchronization. There is no API, connection, or background upload, and the file does not set or update the final score or game result in MaxPreps. You enter or verify the score in MaxPreps yourself.

    The full workflow

    1. Confirm the game qualifies. It must be finalized, contain stats, and belong to a high school season on your own team.
    2. Review player stats and jersey identifiers. Fix missing, invalid, or duplicate jersey identifiers before you export, and confirm touchdowns, tries, and defensive stats are credited to the right players.
    3. Export the file from the completed game in StatHawk. Use the game's MaxPreps export action, then save or share the .txt file somewhere you can reach it from a computer, such as a cloud drive or an email to yourself.
    4. Open MaxPreps Team Admin. Sign in to your Coach Admin account, select Schedule, locate the correct game, and open its stat entry page.
    5. Enter or verify the final score, then choose Save & Import Stats. Choose the StatHawk file and select Import.
    6. Select Calculate Team Totals, then Publish & Continue. MaxPreps notes that stats appear on the team pages within roughly 15 to 30 minutes.

    Steps 4 through 6 follow the MaxPreps Stat Management instructions for coaches. StatHawk is listed with MaxPreps as a stat import partner.

    Troubleshooting

    • No export action on the game. StatHawk makes the export available only for an eligible finalized high school personal-team game with recorded stats. A game that is still in progress, has no stats, or does not meet StatHawk's export eligibility will not produce a file.
    • Jersey identifier errors. Every player needs a valid, unique jersey identifier. Duplicates and blanks are the ones to fix first, and keeping numbers consistent through the season keeps your MaxPreps player pages tied to the right athletes.
    • Imported into the wrong game. Before you import, confirm the opponent and date on the MaxPreps schedule match the game you exported. If stats land on the wrong game, open that game's stat entry page in Team Admin and correct it there, then import into the correct game.

    The MaxPreps file is not a PDF or a CSV

    StatHawk produces three different things, and only one of them is for MaxPreps.

    • StatHawk MaxPreps player-stat file (.txt). StatHawk's import file for an eligible finalized high school game.
    • StatHawk PDF reports. Standard game, player, and team-season reports for sharing and printing. These are separate from StatHawk's MaxPreps file.
    • Play-by-play CSV. The full play list for a completed game, for your own review or spreadsheet work.

    The MaxPreps file carries supported individual player-stat fields, including passing, rushing, receiving, defensive, special teams, and scoring lines such as try splits, kick extra points, and field goals. Players whose only contribution is special teams or kicking still appear in the file.

    What to record during the game

    Track the game normally. Classic Mode is fast to score, and Yardage Mode adds passing, rushing, and receiving yards. For supported high school configurations, record the relevant punt results and return yards, try type, field goal attempts and results, and penalty enforcement outcomes while scoring.

    FAQ

    Is this a live sync with MaxPreps? No. You export a file per game and import it yourself through MaxPreps Team Admin.

    Do I need StatHawk Pro? No. The export is part of free StatHawk scoring. On the MaxPreps side you need a Coach Admin account with access to your team.

    Does the export set the final score? No. Enter or verify the final score in MaxPreps before you import.

    Does the export work in Classic Mode and Yardage Mode? Yes. Yardage Mode adds passing, rushing, and receiving yards to the file.

    Does it work for both NFHS and CIF setups? Yes. Both are high school seasons in StatHawk.
