    Set up for Florida rules

    For 2026–27 the FHSAA plays NFHS rules with Florida changes. Start from the NFHS rule set, then match Florida’s overtime.

    1. Choose 7v7 Girls High School, then the NFHS Girls Flag rule set. It has the 80-yard field, zones at the 20s and midfield, four quarters, the start at your 14, and tries of 1 from the 3 or 2 from the 10.
    2. On the How do you play? screen, open Overtime, turn on Play overtime and make the first round a series from the 10. The last round repeats, so that’s Florida’s overtime: four downs from the 10 for each team until someone wins.
    3. The 19-point running clock in the second half and the 5-minute halftime are for the officials. They don’t change how you score.

    Once you reach regionals, season stats are due on MaxPreps or the FHSAA’s designated provider by noon on game day. Export the MaxPreps-ready file after each eligible final and import it in MaxPreps Team Admin.

    The FHSAA 2026–27 manual says NFHS flag football rules as modified by the FHSAA. Florida’s changes include the 300 × 120-foot field, a 5-minute halftime, its own overtime and a running clock at a 19-point lead in the second half.
